Pastoral Care Services
At Marillac Neurological Care Centre, we welcome people of all faiths. A Christian spirit and focus underpins all we do and respects the multi-faith background of our staff and Residents.
The Community of the Daughters of Charity, some of whom live on site, have discerned that for however long possible, they will appoint a Sister in the pastoral role in all their Services and projects.
The Sister designated in MNCC is known as the Pastoral Coordinator.

What is Pastoral Care?
Pastoral care is the one element of our service that is there for all who live and work within MNCC. It is quite simply—care offered through the companionship of a person who has no other role than to be there to offer a hand of friendship, a listening ear in a safe confidential space which at times in life we all need.
The Pastoral Coordinator listens with an open, caring and non-judgmental heart. Recognising that health communities support the flourishing and wellbeing of people, our Pastoral Coordinator supports the building of community through shared celebrations, rituals and spiritual/religious practices.
How can Pastoral Care help me?
Our Pastoral Coordinator can:
- Offer individual support when requested
- Help address issues of conflict, loss, change, death and grief
- Help celebrate meaningful events, times of joy, discovery and growth
- Help meet requests for religious practices and rituals in keeping with the cultures, beliefs, traditions and practices of all
- Offer support to staff outside of line management
How do I access Pastoral Care at the MNCC?
The Pastoral Office is the first office on your right as you enter into The Street from Reception. The designated Pastoral Coordinator tries to maintain a presence in the House and is there to offer individual support when requested. They are easily available in their office or contact them via phone or email:

Pastoral Care in the Workplace
The values of the MNCC are inspired and rooted in the overall values of the Vincentian family. Help, support and training is provided to ensure a clear understanding and to enable ownership in the practice of Vincentian Values.
