Visitors
MNCC has a structured visiting policy designed to aid the well being and safety of our residents.
Visitors are welcome at MNCC during the following times:
- 10.00am - 11.45am
- 2.00am - 4.00pm
- 5.45am - 7:30pm
We ask that relatives and visitors leave promptly as the end times are structured to ensure that meal times are protected and the dignity of residents is maintained. Your assistance is appreciated.
Children are welcome! There are various children-friendly activities in the street. We do ask that children are supervised at all times and that other residents and families are respected. Please note that ball ganes are not allowed anywhere in our grounds.
Parking is free, please park considerately. If the spaces around the Green are full, follow the path to the left of the home. There are some additional spaces psat the Sensory Garden at the back of the house.
Everyone visiting the MNCC will need to sign in at Reception. Our Receptionist will give you a lanyard or a pass holder which must be worn whilst you are on the premises. Please keep it with you as there is important emergency information on the reverse.
EXTERNAL VISITORS NEED TO BE AUTHORISED BY THE TEAM TO VISIT RESIDENTS.
Family Involvement
Each unit has a families' group which meets by agreement among famiy members. Minutes of these meetings are shared with the management team. Any issues or questions raised will be followed up and responses relayed to families. Our residents' and families' questionnaire is sent out each spring.
Families are welcome to join their family member at our events and functions which are advertised around the house. Families are also welcome to support their family member at activity sessions.
Fire Procedure
If the fire alarm sounds whilst you are on the premises, please make your way to the front of the building fire assembly point near the large Fir Tree. If you discover a fire, please hit or sound the alarm immediately. This can be done verbally by shouting fire, fire, fire or by hitting an alarm point.
Our fire alarm is tested regularly, but we are also required to carry out practice fire drills. In order to make these meaningful exercises, we will not give a day or time for the drills.
We understand this may cause some distress to residents, but it is essential that staff respond as they would if there was a real emergency. The alarm will only sound for 3 to 4 minutes and residents will be reassured as quickly as possible.
Alcohol Policy
MNCC does not allow alcohol to be consumed at any events or functions organised by Marillac NCC which may be attended by residents. This is due to possible contradictions to medication.
A resident may be allowed alcohol on their own unit upon consultation with their unit manager.
Where MNCC's premises are booked for a private function, alcohol is not to be provided without proir discussion with MNCC's management team.
Smoking
The Marillac Neurological Care Centre is a NO-SMOKING BUILDING.
THE DESIGNATED SMOKING SAFE AREA IS BEHIND THE HALL AT THE END OF THE SENSORY GARDEN.
Cafeteria
As well as meals provided for Residents, we have a cafeteria which is open to Staff, Residents, Visitors and Volunteers from 9:15am - 4pm everyday.
Last lunch orders are at 10:30am, later meals can be ordered anytime after the cafeteria opens.
Vending machines are available at all times. Please note, there is an area of the cafeteria (Sun Room) reserved for staff only at all times.
